As a professional, Allan Nelson completed an undergrad business degree at the University of Alberta, is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CMA) and has earned a reputation as a top executive search consultant in Canada. Having founded the Calgary office of Davies Park in 1996, he has worked closely with his partners to expand the Davies Park footprint across Canada and into the USA.

Allan has become increasingly interested in the area of Personal Branding, including the positive and proactive use of social media. Having spent the last 20 years interviewing executives for leadership, “C” suite and Board roles, he has gained a unique perspective of the impact a personal brand (managed or unmanaged) can play in a professional’s career. Allan has consulted with hundreds of executives while providing insight on ways they can improve their personal brands. In Q3, 2016 he will be available for individual training sessions or group speaking engagements on the subject of personal branding.

Allan has enjoyed working in a volunteer capacity throughout his life. While in University he was the founder of The Young Executives Club which today is known as the Entrepreneurs Club. It became the fastest growing student club at the U of A and upon graduation Allan received a Citizenship Award for demonstrating outstanding dedication and leadership to his fellow students. Allan has volunteered extensively for the Society of Management Accountants of Alberta at both the Calgary Chapter and at the Provincial level becoming Provincial Chair and representing CMA Alberta on the national Board. He was subsequently recognized by his peers with the distinguished title of Fellow (FCMA) in 2002. In addition to memberships with the Calgary Chamber of Commerce and Board roles in his condominium association, he continues to spend countless hours volunteering with youth programs and in ecclesiastical leadership roles in the community.

Personally, Allan is married 34 years to Denise, has 3 grown children and 6 grandchildren which he adores.
